All vehicles fitted with a DPF will need to have the filter replaced at some point as part of the service schedule if it hasn’t already become overloaded. This can be very expensive, for instance a BMW 330d replacement DPF will cost £1247+ VAT and around £90+VAT per hour for fitting, with the job taking 3-4 hours! The DPF is not a legal requirement or is it needed for the MOT test so the most cost effective solution is to remove the DPF from the exhaust system and deactivate the DPF functions from the ECU, resulting in a complete guaranteed solution with no further DPF related issues.
